The quite big volume of this project has been divided into a sequence of small buildings – high and narrow – that draws a sort of line upstream in the valley. Entirely covered with wood, with roofs in shingles, these volumes are astonishing for their empty façades that are perforated by loggias – even double-height – and large glass-panels, something which is quite unusual for mountain climates.

Embedded in the gently-shaped slope of the land, the irregular arrangement of accesses in different heights makes it possible to directly access the road by car from an underground car park or to enter through a pedestrian access upstream directly from the ski slopes.

Considering the plan, the aggregation of several units made it possible to distribute the space with exterior two-entrance staircases, thus exploiting the interval between buildings and making transversal crossings more animated. The building technology aims at maximising the passive heat exchange of buildings through the use of super-insulating packages around the perimeters, through the climate mitigation capability of the loggias in the windows and the top performance glass-panels.
